Dolphin Bowl

A hand cut circle of special production streaky glass in peacock blue and clear, with another circle of transparent glass on top, fired in the kiln to a temperature of 795 degrees centigrade. At this temperature, everything is smooth, shiny and little 'champagne' bubbles have formed between the layers.
 
Three leaping dolphins were cut in a matching peacock iridescent glass and placed onto the fired circles. Small grains of glass, including tiny particles of rainbow dichroic were added for extra texture and a subtle hint of sparkle.
 
Fired again at a lower temerature to retain texture.
 
A final firing in a ceramic mould to achieve the shape.
